20st Dec. 2007 Macau Parking by Reloadable Card will Come into Reality Next Week.

There are over eight thousand meters in the streets of Macau currently.Since the next Monday,all the meters not only accept payment by coins but also reloadable cards--intelligent parking card.The card,set 100 as par value with no appreciation and valid to 30th Apr.2010,will be sold by the ten parking lots run by the two parking companies and 7-11 stores.To provide much more convenient parking service for drivers, after ratification of the Industrial and Commercial Bureau,the card, developed exclusively by Macau Intelligent Parking Card Co.Ltd,will apply to all the meters in Macau streets.The points of sales include the ten parking lots operated by Macau Forehap and Ma Family,say,Baining,Baijia,Baigang，Baitao,Baihu,Baihui,Baijing,Baiwei,Baili and Song Yusheng Square and another 26 stores of 7-11 in Macau.Macau Intelligent Parking Card Co.Ltd,hold news press yesterday,the president of the board attended and gave speeches.According to the introduction,when the card is inserted by the first time,the meter will display the balance with no deduction.While pulling out a little bit and then insert again,the meter starts to count time and deduct fees.For two-hour meter,after the second insertion and keeping the card in the slot for every three seconds,it will add thirty minute and deduct one yuan.Take out the card when time is over,or the meter will continue to deduct the fee in the card until it reaches its maximum parking time limits.

-Mobile Phone Payment in Spain

At the end of 2004, the system will be tested with a small number of parking meters in Tarragona and will now be extended throughout the city afterwards. Towards the middle of 2005 the system will be available to all towns nationwide. In order to use this service, the motorist must initiate the purchase of the required parking time from a mobile telephone. The process of paying via the Mobipay system is then started. Once payment has been authorised, the Parking meter issues the ticket. The main advantages for the user, as opposed to the existing alternatives, are that this new payment method is easy, quick and secure, is always available and allows the exact amount to be paid. Also, the meter operator benefits from a payment system that complements the coin operated system, since it reduces the amount of coins in the machines, therefore increasing security and decreasing operational costs. Parkeon’s broad experience in payment by mobile telephone is bolstered by its experience in Dublin and Edinburgh where the system has been used to great success since 2003, winning the British Parking Awards in 2004.
